As a designer at CMU's newly opened Office of Title IX Initiatives, I was tasked with the branding and creation of materials that would promote its presence on campus, helping members of the CMU community to make sense of the complex processes surrounding reports of sexual misconduct and harrassment.

CLIENT: CMU OFFICE OF TITLE IX INITIATIVES
ROLE: DESIGNER
DELIVERABLES: BRANDING, INFORMATION VISUALIZATION, GRAPHIC DESIGN

PROCESS SCHEMATIC

One of the first tasks I undertook was to help visualize and articulate the process of what occurs when a report of sexual misconduct is filed to the Title IX Office. This was a difficult task as it required extensive readings, interpretations, and numerous iterations on multiple policy documents summarized in a cohesive, visually appealling infographic that did not alienate its viewers. Emphasis was placed on making the infographic friendly, calming, and its language written in a way that was relateable to students who simply wanted information quickly, or who needed to see right away what major decisions they would need to make in the grand scheme of the process.

BEYOND THE BINARY

A hackathon against gender-based violence. Hosted in partnership with TartanHacks as the focus of its Social Impact category. I created independent branding for Beyond the Binary, including a logo, posters, and social media materials.

TOWN HALL POSTERS

After the publication of the Sexual Assault and Relationship Violence study results, the University administration decided it would be helpful to have a town hall style meeting to have conversations around them to see what can be done in the community to help prevent such issues. I designed a series of posters based on the common questions and misconceptions that came out of the study in an effort to pique interest in these events.

LOGO UPDATES

After completing the posters, I was then tasked with updating the SES, SARV, and DASH logos to have a cohesive aesthetic, preferably fitting the new Title IX branding while still being similar to the old versions to prevent confusion.
